Each of us experiences our own personal bullfight—a dual battle, both external and internal, that becomes an inseparable part of existence. This sculpture masterfully embodies inner conflict, the inevitable duality of strength and vulnerability. Questions of identity and the struggle for self-control take shape here as a powerful visual metaphor. The tension within the figure symbolizes that moment when personal conflict can transform into a search for external enemies. Like a wounded bull, one charges forward, destroying everything in their path, losing control of themselves.
The sculpture underscores the concept of duality and the merging of identities. Here, the bull and the toreador, the aggressor and the defender, become parts of a unified whole where the boundaries between them blur. The viewer is confronted with the question: who are they in this bullfight? The piece visually represents a tense equilibrium that reveals the nature of internal struggle—a constant choice between instinct and reason, raw power and conscious control.

"A Multi-Stage Firing Process at 2282°F (1250°C)"
The creation of each sculpture begins with shaping the clay. It must be hollow inside, which makes the process particularly complex and requires great precision. The sculpture dries slowly over the course of about a month, as drying it too quickly can cause cracks. It is then fired for the first time in a kiln at 2282°F (1250°C).
After the initial firing, the sculpture is coated with colored glazes and undergoes a second firing, specifically to set the glaze and add richness and depth to the texture. At every stage, there’s a risk that the material could crack, forcing the process to start over. This meticulous approach makes each sculpture a truly unique piece, reflecting both skill and patience.
